A representative of the Embassy of Jordan in Ottawa states that a Palestinian whose father was a national of Jordan and who possesses a Jordanian passport has the right to return to Jordan (20 Oct. 1992). The representative maintains that children of Jordanian fathers are considered to be Jordanian nationals; they can apply for Jordanian passports. The representative also adds that these children are not required to have Jordanian mothers as well.

A representative of the Palestine Information Office in Ottawa states that a Palestinian who possesses a Jordanian passport has the right to return to Jordan because that person is considered to be a national of Jordan (20 Oct. 1992). The representative adds that Palestinians who possess Jordanian travel documents are required to apply for entry visas to Jordan because they are not considered to be nationals of Jordan.

Additional and/or corroborating information on the above subject is currently unavailable to the DIRB.
