Country Reports 1993 reports that in October 1993, after attacks from Croatian forces on several Serb-held villages, Serbian forces retaliated by shelling several cities and towns, among which the Zagreb suburb of Lucko was hit (1994, 830, 835). Other reports specifically referring to attacks by Serbian forces on Zagreb since January 1992 are currently unavailable to the DIRB.

For additional information on the war and conditions in Zagreb, please consult the attached media reports.

This response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints. This response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
