Information on attacks against Tutsi students specifically in Kinshasa could not be found among the sources consulted by the DIRB.

However, attached  are some articles published in November 1996 which indicate that, in general, members of Tutsi community were targeted for persecution, systematic theft at their homes and businesses and physical abuses in Kinshasa following the outbreak of hostilities in Kivu region.

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
