Current information on the above subject, other than that contained in Response to Information Request ERT15822.E, is unavailable to the DIRB. According to the Indian Ocean Newsletter of 14 May 1994, 26 Eritrean Liberation Front-Revolutionary Council (ELF-RC) officials and members were arrested in Ethiopia shortly after a defence and security agreement signed by Eritrea and Ethiopia (2).

This response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints. This response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
