No information on whether Article 10(b) of the Constitution of Uganda and Subsection 3(2) of the Ugandan Citizenship Act with respect to a person whose mother was a citizen of Uganda and whose father was not a citizen of Uganda are in conflict, the procedure to be followed in order to obtain citizenship, and the documents required, could not be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate.
However, Article 2 of the Constitution of Uganda states the following:
This Constitution is the supreme law of Uganda and shall have binding force on all authorities and persons throughout Uganda.
If any other law or any custom is inconsistent with any of the provisions of this Constitution, the Constitution shall prevail, and that other law or custom shall, to the extent of the inconsistency, be void (1996, 31).
