Taliban militants have stormed a courthouse in northern Afghanistan, killing at least seven people, including prosecutors.
Four men wearing army uniforms attacked a court in the provincial capital of Kunduz on October 27, police spokesman Sayed Sarwar Hussaini said.
Hussaini said one of the attackers detonated his explosives at the entrance gate and three others entered the building.
Chief prosecutor Amruddin Amin said the gunmen went door-to-door in the compound, shooting their victims at close range.
Several people, including court officials, policemen, and a civilian were injured in the attack.
The attackers were subsequently killed by security forces, the officials said.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for the assault, saying it was punishment for recent death sentences handed to Taliban prisoners.
The court was reportedly hearing several cases against the Taliban militants.
