For information on the Udmurts in Estonia, please consult the attached facsimile sent to the DIRB on 15 August 1997 by the director of the Aleksanteri Institute in Helsinki. In a 15 August 1997 telephone interview, the director stated that the Aleksanteri Institute at the Finnish Centre for Russian and East European Studies, University of Helsinki, is a research institute specializing in the Baltic States and Russia. The Institute also provides consultation and information services to businesses and the Finnish government. The director added that the information in the 15 August 1997 facsimile represents the viewpoint of the Institute.
Corroborating information on the Udmurts in Estonia could not be found among the sources consulted by the DIRB.
