July 4, 2002 The Constitution is the most important state document of the Netherlands. It contains fundamental rules concerning the constitutional State and the rights of its citizens. The constitution of the Kingdom of the Netherlands was formed in 1814. In the course of history it has changed many times. An important change took place in 1848. The most recent change was made in 2002.
