Among UNHCR's closest and longest standing partners are the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), and national societies of the Red Cross/Red Crescent movement. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has also long been a major partner of the UN refugee agency, particularly in repatriation operations. More recently, UNHCR and the IOM have been working closely in operations for the internally displaced people.
