I joined UNHCR in 2010 and am currently working as Senior Protection Assistant. My work mainly involves providing support to the office in developing and implementing programmes to prevent and address sexual and gender-based violence in the refugee camps in eastern Nepal. I encourage gender equality and women’s empowerment with the belief that promoting it can lead to less instances of violence against women. I help vulnerable women by telling them about the eternal hope and encourage them to look for dignity in their life. When I see these women raise their voices, move their feet and empower others to create change, I feel proud of my work.
