“Twelve years ago I met professor Nelson Pajaro, a person who was displaced with his family from the Atlantic coast of Colombia. He settled in Altos de Cazuca, in the municipality of Soacha, and with the support of the UNHCR, and he implemented a project that gave training to children who needed to enter the formal education system.

Unfortunately, after many years of carrying out his project in the community, professor Pajaro was once again forcibly displaced. We do not know where he is, but he is surely still helping boys and girls in situations of forced displacement.”

Margarita Morales works in the Programme Unit of UNHCR Bogota.
